4 films about passion to inspire more engagement from football fans. 

The challenge

Havas Sports & Entertainment asked us to make a series of films around the subject of passion for their clients ‘Thankyou’ campaign. The campaign aims to shine a light on the good side of football and the stories of all those who embody the spirit of the game. The new films alongside other activity were commissioned to evolve the campaign, to generate more engagement from football fans making it more participatory and conversational through inspirational content.

The story

A key part of the process was working with Havas to identify and research stories and people that exemplify passion from different parts of the game. It was important to us and the client that the films had strong stories and had integrity. They needed to look beautiful but more importantly they needed to be authentic stories about real people that all football fans can relate to and be inspired by.

The result

The films were released on Facebook page at approximately 2 week intervals throughout October and November 2014.
The films were watched by more than 3 million people, received more than 52,000 likes, shared more than 11,000 times and received nearly 4,000 highly positive comments from fans from all clubs. The films have since gone on to win numerous awards around the world including Gold for Best Direction at the New York Festivals, 2 Golds at the EVCOM Screen Awards and a Silver Dolpin Award at the Cannes Media and TV Awards.
